I've been thinking about how to put into words the loss of a good friend that I have known for 45 years. Yes, 45 years. I think out of everyone at AccuWeather, I have been blessed to know Ken since elementary school. Ken was always someone with drive and ambition. Even in his school and college days, Ken always managed to get involved with everything and was the person who lead everyone to do their best. I keep looking at his office door this morning just waiting to see Ken come popping out onto the operations floor with some new idea or sports story. It's a sad day here, and everyone who worked with Ken will miss him dearly.
Weather:
1. Cold front will plow across the northern Plains and Midwest today and Tuesday. Thunderstorms will develop along the front with the impacts mainly gusty winds and hail.
2. I know the models have been showing colder weather and even snow in the longer range. Both models seem to be having problems in the longer range so right now I don't trust anything regarding the cold and snow in the longer range. I am not sure what is going on with the models in the longer range, but again, I think for now, I am just going to look at the next five days and not beyond until we see something more definitive. I will say, the NAO which was suppose to be going negative is now showing more neutral values. in the medium range.
