Latest on the Tornado, Flood Situation on the Plains

AccuWeather.com will be constantly updating this news story to provide you with the latest information on the adverse weather impacting the Plains.
Severe thunderstorms are heating up on the central and southern Plains, producing the threats of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.
**A line of thunderstorms stretching from west of Dallas and Fort Worth and extending to communities south and west of San Angelo, Texas, are turning violent with indications of strong rotation on radar.**
This is a serious storm threat, and you should take cover if a severe storm and tornado-related watches and warnings are issued for your area.
AccuWeather.com meteorologists are especially concerned about the thunderstorms erupting from Kansas City, Mo., southward will unleash damaging winds, large hail, flooding downpours and destructive tornadoes.

The violent thunderstorms will shift northeastward during the evening, threatening the corridor from western Missouri to central Texas.
Cities that could be left damaged from the powerful thunderstorms or tornadoes through this evening include Waco and Tyler, Texas, McAlester, Muskogee and Tulsa, Okla., Springfield, Mo., and Fayetteville, Ark.
Many areas from western Missouri to central Texas will have to deal with even more powerful and drenching thunderstorms later tonight, raising significant concern for widespread flooding.
Keep weather radios on for severe weather and flooding alerts.
Thunderstorms will also intensify farther north across portions of Iowa and southern Minnesota as the afternoon and evening progresses. Hail and strong winds will be the biggest threats of these storms.
The severe weather danger will not end tonight, but will instead extend into Tuesday across the Arklatex.
Latest Reports of Severe Weather, Flooding:
2:25 p.m. CDT: Quarter-sized hail hammered Thurber, Texas.
1:00 p.m. CDT: A barn was blown down by severe thunderstorm winds 3 miles northwest of Columbus, Kan.
11:43 a.m. CDT: Power poles were damaged by strong thunderstorm winds 5 miles east of Tulsa, Okla.
