Mid-Atlantic Snowfall Map, Up to 17 Inches!

Feb 20, 2012; 9:23 AM ET
UPDATE: The AccuWeather version of the map below is now available:

Up to 17 inches of snow fell in the mountains of Virginia during the weekend snowstorm, but the major cities of the mid-Atlantic were left with nothing. The map below shows how much snow fell yesterday. We'll have an AccuWeather.com map out later today.

The highest amounts by state were as follows:*
Greenville, Va.: 10.0"
Montcalm, W.Va.: 9.0"
Blackey, Ky.: 6.0"
Seven Devils, N.C.: 4.5"
Jamestown, Tenn: 4.0"

*Official reports as of 8 a.m. ET. did not include the 17- and 14-inch reports in Virginia, shown on the map above.
We got a lot of cool photos from our Facebook Fans, and we'll be compiling a news story with them soon.

The webcam shot below is from my childhood home in Boomer, N.C., where my mom reports that 1-2 inches of sleet and snow fell. It's ironic since my webcams show nothing but grass here in Pennsylvania.
