Severe weather will develop in Texas Thursday as the cold front drops down from the north. Storms will also develop along the upper part of the front into western Tennessee. I don't believe we will see a big outbreak of tornadoes, but what we will see are storms with hail, gusty winds and heavy rain. If any tornadoes do occur, they will happen in the area I shaded red on the map. That's the area where the shear is the highest and the high dew point air is aimed.
On a side note: Eastern Texas will be much different this spring compared to last spring. The GFS shows rain just about every other day so looks like the drought conditions will be not occur this year or at least through the spring months.
